We are Urban Wild, a beautiful independent shop on Central Road in Worcester Park, and online right here. We're so glad you found us.
Our shelves are full of things we love, from little gifts that say a lot to handmade jewellery, homeware, and a handful of special clothing pieces we simply couldn't resist.
They come from independent makers and brands, most of them women-led. Some still make everything themselves, others have grown and brought people along with them. We choose every piece with more than just looks in mind. Things that are well made, useful, joyful and worth making space for.
Because beautiful things are even better when there's a bit more to them.
Our mantra is simple: mindful choices create positive change. Every time we choose a maker or brand for the shop, we're helping them grow. And every time you choose something from our shelves, you're right there with us, empowering the people behind it. That's the part we love most.
How it all began
Urban Wild began with Mireya, our founder, and a lifelong love of nature. She grew up in Bolivia and became an environmental engineer, and her work took her through the Chaco dry forest, into the Bolivian Amazon and on to Kew Gardens, where she contributed to research on the world's threatened plants.
Then came twins, a love of making jewellery and, eleven years ago, this shop. Different setting, same mission: helping people and nature thrive together. Mireya is still the one who goes treasure hunting for wonderful makers and brands, and she loves sharing their stories, here in the shop, online and across our social media.
